Combined Vision and Hearing Loss Module
In previous modules, you have learned about vision loss and hearing loss as singular disabilities and how they may affect a person’s life. This module is designed to provide an overview of the complex disability of combined vision and hearing loss, or as it is commonly called, "deafblindness".
Upon completion of this module you will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of a combined vision and hearing loss.
- Explain the dual sensory loss continuum for vision and hearing losses.
- Identify the common characteristics of combined vision and hearing loss.
- Identify potential indicators of the presence of a combined vision and hearing loss.
- Identify ways to improve communication with a person that has a combined vision and hearing loss.
